Since I didn't want to pay US$200+ (100 per person, min of 2 pax) to do Ulu Temburong National Park, I decided to just be a local and do what locals do - Tasek Lama at 4pm after work.
Budget: BND5 (~USD4)
Throughout the year, but I can just imagine how muddy this is when it rains.

When I talk to locals, I hear that this is normally an "after work day" hike, usually from 4pm. I did this on a Monday afternoon, and since I met at least 20 people, I think this is true.
Special Notes
Special Notes
- Weather forecast: English. Just good old google. Also, weather forecast kept on saying rain, I still went, no rain. So maybe not the most reliable?
- Trailheads. As with all of Brunei, no public transportation. So just use Dart, the Brunei equivalent of Uber.
- Tasek Lama Parking Lot. Google maps pin. I recommend starting from this point to get your bearings. Most people also start from here.
- Radisson Hotel. The road behind it leads to the other trailhead, here's the google maps pin. My hotel is near here, so I just walked from here.
- Mountain huts.
- Paid. None.
- Free. None.
- Camping. None.
- 04:00pm. Leave my hotel.
- 04:13pm. Arrive at Tasek Lama Parking lot, start hike.
- 05:59pm. Arrive at Brunei Radisson Hotel. Head for dinner.
