When to Go
Anytime during the year.

Special Notes

  • Weather forecast: English / Japanese
  • Plenty of restaurants and exit points on the way. I suggest to just bring 1L of water + emergency snack (that I never ate) + 4,000 yen ish cash for the food + beer. My friend and I joke that this is the ONE hike where maybe one PET bottle of water is enough, just buy at the shops in the middle.
  • Trailheads
    • Fujino Station. From here, you can take a bus or walk to the trailhead (google maps pin), but we prefer to walk to trailhead.
    • Takaosanguchi Station.
  • Mountain huts.
    • Paid. None.
    • Free. None.
    • Camping. None.

Finally some forest.

I don't know what those red ribbons are for.

Beautiful route.

Finally at the top.

Our classic lunch.

The white horse.

Continuing on past the rest of the mountains.

The really long line for the lift.

Quite a nice view while in line.
